MISSION TRIP: North Carolina
October 9 - 13, 2020
We are excited to work with partners at BMH: the Black Mountain Home for Children, Youth, & Families! This ministry is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Through foster care, residential care, transitional living, and independent living, BMH serves youth from birth through college graduation who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected. Their mission is “to glorify God by caring for children and families.” The Black Mountain “Home” is actually a campus covering hundreds of acres. It includes a village of homes, apartment style buildings, recreational space, a working farm, playgrounds, ball fields, and a full gymnasium. BMH provides wonderful opportunities for church groups to serve together on campus. All ages are welcome, and BMH leaders encourage family members of all ages to work side-by-side. Each mission trip is tailored to the group’s dynamic: number of people, ages, and skill sets of the participants. Once BMH coordinators have this information, they pair the group with appropriate projects on the campus’s To-Do list. Our family mission trips to Black Mountain Home will be packed with work projects throughout the day, followed by fun activities and devotional times each evening.
